I’ve been on a mission to find non-maternity clothes that I can wear throughout my pregnancy. As I mentioned in my last post, it can save you money by giving you more wear out of your purchase and give you a major confidence boost by allowing you to wear your normal size during pregnancy! While there is a time to splurge on maternity-specific clothing, which I have no doubt done, this approach can provide the same results of looking and feeling good while your bump is growing as well as after you’ve delivered your bundle(s) of joy.

The next look in this series is the over-sized sweater. Over-sized sweaters are extremely comfortable and cozy so they can be worn just lounging around as well as dressed up. Lightweight sweaters can also be worn well into the warmer months so no matter what season you’re expecting you can pull it off! These sweaters are very roomy by design to accommodate your growing bump. At the time these photos were taken I was 26 weeks pregnant with twins with more room to give. I can testify to how uncomfortable it can be just having a tiny bit of pressure on your bump at anytime. I can also remember how itchy it can feel as well!

I will definitely be wearing this sweater well after delivery as well. Overs-sized sweaters are not form fitting but they are still feminine. Let’s be honest too, you won’t bounce back to your pre-baby body overnight so this gives you some room to conceal what’s leftover while you recover 😉

The Rx
Over-sized sweaters work well for layering over pieces since they are so roomy. If you are on the shorter side you could maybe pull off wearing it alone as a dress too. Being on the taller side I layered this over-sized sweater over over a mini dress. I am a huge fan of this woman-owned brand, Selkie. They make stylish, comfortable, and whimsical clothing. I love their bright, pastel colors and bohemian prints. This pastel blue over-sized sweater is one of the lightest and softest things I have ever worn. To contrast this sweater I chose a darker blue dress with a floral print. One of the best combos in my opinion are knee-high boots with a mini dress. It shows a little bit of leg, not too much. Very chic! Now if you wanted to put on some heels, don’t let me discourage you. Pregnancy shouldn’t be a reason stop being your sexy self! Another way I would wear this sweater would be to simply throw it on with some leggings and sneakers for a more casual look. You can go from lounging at home to running quick errands looking extremely chic.
