One trend that I have absolutely loved this winter is shearling. From the lining of boots, hats, and gloves to the full-on teddy coat, the sky is the limit for ways to get your shearling fix! Long gone are the days when the UGG boot was top choice. Though don’t get me wrong, I still rock my pair of UGGs from the early 2000s! Shearling is cozy, perfect for staying warm when the temperature starts to dip.

So how do I get my shearling fix? From the many options out there I decided on a jacket. A good jacket can elevate and outfit and can also conceal what you don’t want. Many times I’ve thrown a statement jacket over yoga pants and a pullover and headed out the door! I’m drawn to pieces that stand out or are unique versions of themselves so I immediately fell for this jacket when I saw it. The standard moto jacket resembles a motorcycle jacket and typically consists of black leather, notched lapels, zip-up closures, and buckle at the hem to name a few. What’s different about this jacket is that the leather is a brown suede and lined with shearling. This combination blends the edginess of leather with the coziness of shearling, giving you an edgy but feminine vibe.

The Rx
Sticking with the edgy but feminine vibe I paired this jacket with a floral dress and over-the-knee boots. This floral dress is very playful and feminine with it’s ruched waist and ruffled skirt. The chiffon-like material is light and flows well for all the twirls you’ll want to do in it! The dress hits me right at mid-thigh so throwing on over-the-knee boots shows just the right amount of leg for a little bit of that sexy edge. Now I’m ready for date night or a night out with girlfriends!

Are you getting in on the sherpa trend? Let me know in the comments below!
