New Year, New Me: Celebrating with sequins!

2019 has begun and the new year is always an opportunity for us to start fresh. We make new goals and lament on last year’s resolutions. This year I decided to pursue a passion project of mine. Starting a fashion blog has been something I’ve always wanted to do. After a few heart-to-hearts and life reflections, I’ve stopped making excuses and jumped right in! Here we are finally and I am so excited to start this journey! To honor this milestone I thought we should celebrate and what better way to celebrate the launch of ‘the Style Rx’ than with sequins? A lot of sequins!

I’m a lover of all things sparkly and shiny so I am no stranger to bling. Sometimes less is more but in this case more packs a big statement! I love pieces of clothing that are unique and special in some way and the details elevate this jacket above your standard sequin jacket. So can we talk about the gorgeous details of this jacket?! The different shapes and sizes of sequins form different patterns and textures throughout the whole piece. I can’t stop gushing over how intricate the design is!

The Rx

I played with a lot of textures with this look since the jacket already had a lot of color and prints. Here I paired this sequin jacket with an embroidered jumpsuit, embellished pumps, and quilted handbag. I chose an all-black jumpsuit which complemented the jacket, not clashed with it. I didn’t want to mix too many colors and patterns together and wanted the jacket to be the main focus of the outfit. As a bonus the embroidered bodice gives a subtle sexiness to the jumpsuit as it resembles a corset. Get ready to pop some bubbly!

Thanks for stopping by and celebrating the beginning of theStyleRx! There’s a lot more in store. Can’t wait to share!

xo, Jenn
